How to "freeze" access to a course

When is Freezing Access Necessary

Sometimes, participants cannot actively take the courses due to circumstances such as vacations, illness, or urgent work commitments. In such cases, the Kwiga platform allows you to freeze access to course materials so that participants do not lose time and can resume their studies later.

How to Freeze Access for an Individual Participant

If you need to block access for a specific participant temporarily, follow these steps:

In the Contact Card:

1. Open the contact card and go to the Products tab.

2. Click Freeze next to the access expiration date.

3. Specify the period for freezing access (in days or months) and click Save.

In the Course Members Tab:

1. Select the required course and navigate to the Members tab.

2. Find the necessary member in the list. In the Access will close column, click Freeze.

3. Specify the freezing period and confirm the changes.

After this, the participant will temporarily lose access to the course materials, and the access expiration date will automatically shift by the specified number of days.

Once access is frozen, participants will receive an email notification about the temporary suspension of their access. This feature makes learning more flexible and adaptable to participants' needs.

How the Course Appears in the Participant’s Profile During Freezing

In their account, they will see the course in the list, but with a note stating that access will open on [date]. This helps avoid confusion and makes it easy to track when access becomes active again.

After activating the access freeze, the participant will no longer be able to open course materials, lesson titles will become inactive, and a date indicating the end of the freeze period will be displayed below them. If the course includes publicly available lessons, they will remain accessible to the participant even during the freeze.

This way, your participants can take a break whenever they need, while you maintain their engagement and motivation. No loss of time or knowledge—just comfortable learning at a convenient pace.
