Brief information about the closed group - a separate product on Kwiga, how a student gets into it and how it can be used.
Kwiga offers a separate product – a private group or chat in Telegram, access to which is controlled by the Kwiga bot. This means that only participants who have the appropriate access on Kwiga can be in such a chat or channel. This can be either free participation for specific contacts or participation for a one-time fee or recurring payments (subscription-based access). As with any other product on Kwiga, access is easily managed and controlled in the Products tab. As soon as access expires (the subscription is not paid, or participation is paid only until a certain date, or you decide to remove access yourself), the participant is removed from the Telegram group or channel. If they try to re-enter the same channel or group, they will also be automatically removed. This way, you can be sure that only participants with access are in the group or channel, and sharing the link with friends will not work.
Please note the following points:
-
The private group is implemented in Telegram. You need to create such a group or channel, create a separate bot, and add it to the group as an Administrator with permission to remove users. Step-by-step instructions on what to do and how to do it are available when creating a group on the platform.
-
All users who were added BEFORE the Kwiga bot was added will not be controlled by the bot. Therefore, we recommend adding the Kwiga bot immediately after creating the group.
-
Initial entry into the group will only be possible through the Kwiga platform (see the video example below, or go and register through one of the mini-landing pages: via the offer or via the application form.
How a student joins the group
The student will need to log in to their Kwiga account. In the product list, the student will see the Private group and an Enter button. Clicking the Enter button will open a Telegram chatbot that will show the available groups to join (the student may have access to not just one, but several such channels/groups). The unique link in the student's account allows Kwiga to connect this Telegram ID with the contact on Kwiga, thereby tracking whether the student has access to the group or not.
When joining the group/channel for the first time, the bot will save this client's Telegram details to the Telegram (chatbot) field in the contact.
If the client's settings hide their username, the note private will be shown. Adding an additional field with the Telegram username does not affect what is recorded in the Telegram (chatbot) field and is not used by the bot to verify the user in Telegram.
If access to the group is time-limited, the bot sends automatic notifications to the student that access to the group is expiring 3 days, 1 day, and 1 hour before access ends. Most often this is subscription-based access, so this serves as a reminder that a payment needs to be made (or funds will be charged automatically).
Private group use cases
A few examples of when you can use a private group:
-
A course communication chat if you want to be sure that only those who purchased the course will be in it.
-
An additional support chat product or a club for communication about the course, access to which is provided for an extra fee.
-
A standalone product where the expert publishes content, gives recommendations, and communicates with students.
