- How to connect a bot to KWIGA
Learn how to connect a chatbot to KWIGA, set up messenger integrations, and use it to automate messages and communicate with customers.
In this article:
In KWIGA, you can connect bots and messaging channels through Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct, and Viber.
To connect a bot, open the relevant settings section in your KWIGA account, select the messenger, fill in the required fields, and click "Save bot".
1. Telegram
To connect a Telegram bot, enter:
-
Name — the bot's name in KWIGA.
-
Token — the token you received in Telegram from @BotFather after creating the bot.
Important:
-
Do not share the token with anyone else. It grants access to manage the bot.
-
If the token has been compromised, revoke it and create a new one through BotFather.
2. WhatsApp
To connect WhatsApp, enter:
-
Name — the connection name in KWIGA.
-
Access token — a permanent system user token.
-
Phone Number ID — the phone number ID.
-
WhatsApp Business Account ID (WABA ID) — the WhatsApp Business account ID.
-
Meta app App Secret — the Meta app's secret key.
Important before connecting
-
The phone number must not remain connected to the regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app. Disconnect it before connecting, following the integration instructions.
-
If the number is used with another provider, check the requirements for transferring the number and two-factor verification.
-
The Meta app must be in Live mode and include a link to a privacy policy.
-
Until Meta completes business verification, the KWIGA interface shows a limit of no more than 250 new customers per day for sending messages. Before publishing, confirm that this limit is still current and exactly where it applies.
-
After the 24-hour window following the customer's last message closes, you can only send message templates approved by Meta.
-
To contact a customer for the first time, you must follow WhatsApp's rules on recipient consent to receive messages.
Also note that Meta sets message rates and may impose restrictions based on account status and quality.
3. Facebook Messenger
To connect Facebook Messenger, enter:
-
Name — the connection name in KWIGA.
-
Page Access Token — the Facebook Page access token.
-
Page ID — Facebook Page ID.
-
Meta app App Secret — Meta app secret key.
Important before connecting
-
The Meta app must be in Live mode and include a link to the privacy policy.
-
You can reply to a customer with a regular message within 24 hours of their last message.
-
After this period, Meta's rules restrict regular messages. Special messaging options are available only if Meta's requirements are met.
-
The integration requires the appropriate app permissions and access to the Facebook Page.
4. Instagram Direct
To connect Instagram Direct, enter:
-
Name — name of the connection in KWIGA.
-
Instagram access token (long-lived) — access token.
-
Instagram User ID — ID of the Instagram professional account.
-
Meta app Instagram App Secret — Meta app secret key.
Important before connecting
-
The integration requires an Instagram professional account — Business or Creator. Personal accounts do not support this type of API integration.
-
The Meta app must be in Live mode and include a link to the privacy policy.
-
You can reply to a customer with a regular message within 24 hours of their last message.
-
Whether you can start a conversation, send a message, or continue chatting depends on the Instagram Messaging API rules.
-
The integration requires the app to have the necessary messaging permissions.
5. Viber
To connect Viber, enter:
-
Name — name of the bot in KWIGA.
-
Viber bot token — token obtained from the Viber Admin Panel.
Important before connecting
-
Creating a chatbot requires registration and approval under Rakuten Viber's current commercial terms.
-
Under Viber's current commercial model, the standard service fee for a new bot is €115 per month. Bot-initiated messages that are delivered incur additional charges. Confirm the final cost with Viber before connecting.
-
Under this model, messages sent during an active 24-hour session are not charged individually.
-
A session starts when a subscriber sends the bot a message or replies to a bot-initiated message.
-
Messages sent outside an active session are subject to Viber's commercial terms.
Bot setup in KWIGA
After connecting a bot to KWIGA, you can configure how it works, automatic messages, commands, buttons, and other settings for interacting with subscribers.
Available settings depend on the connected messaging app.
Inbox
Set up how incoming conversations are handled and the bot's working hours.
-
Auto-assign conversations — automatically assign conversations to staff members in rotation.
-
Working hours — set the time zone and working schedule.
-
Auto-reply outside working hours — automatically message subscribers who contact the bot outside its working hours.
Messages
Set up automatic messages the bot sends in different situations.
Depending on the available features, you can set up a greeting for first-time contacts, replies to common questions, and messages about access to closed groups.
Commands
Here you can create bot commands and set up the replies subscribers receive when they enter them.
Commands appear in the bot menu and help users quickly find information or trigger an action. For example, you can create "Help", "My courses", "Contacts", or "Support" commands.
For each command, you can set its name and the bot's reply. For more complex interactions — such as asking users several questions, collecting information, or performing actions — you can link the command to an automation.
System commands are also available, including //help, //menu, //stop, //unsubscribe and //subscribe, which handle standard bot actions.
Buttons
Set up buttons subscribers can use to interact with the bot.
Depending on the available features, you can set up a keyboard below the input field and buttons below messages.
Links
Here you can create separate bot links with source labels to track where new subscribers come from.
For example, if you share a bot link on your website, Instagram, and in ads, create a separate link for each source and name it accordingly: "Website", "Instagram", "Facebook Ads", etc.
To create a link:
-
Enter the source name.
-
Click "Create link".
-
Copy the generated link or download the QR code.
-
Share it in the appropriate place.
When someone follows the link, opens the bot, and clicks "Start", KWIGA records the source. The number of new subscribers from each link appears in its settings and in the "Where subscribers came from" analytics section.
Only new subscribers count: if someone has already interacted with the bot, following a different link later won't count.
Diagnostics
Check the connection between the bot and KWIGA, view its status, and use the available diagnostic tools.
The available tools depend on the integration.
