How to Remove a Team Member

Learn how to remove a user from the platform and reassign their students to other assistants.


Sometimes, it becomes necessary to remove a user from the platform altogether. This may be needed if an employee is no longer working on the project or their role within the team has changed. Before removing a user, ensure all of their tasks and responsibilities have been reassigned adequately to other team members.

Important: If you only need to remove the user from a specific course, not the entire project, please follow the appropriate instructions for that case.

If you need to remove the user completely from the platform, start by opening the settings. To do this, click on the profile avatar at the top right corner and go to the All Settings section.

Select the Team section – Users tab.

Find the user you want to remove in the list. Next to their name, you will see a trash bin icon. Click on it to start the removal process.

If the user has groups with participants, you must reassign them to other assistants first. There are several options you can choose from for each group:

  • Distribute group to an assistant – the group and its participants will be transferred to a specific assistant.

  • Do not transfer to an assistant and leave the group – in this case, the group will not be linked to any assistant, and the participants will be outside the supervision of assistants managing personalized groups. However, assistants with “All Participants” groups will still have access to these participants.

  • Remove members from group – in this case, the participants will be available to assistants with “All Participants” and “Unassigned” groups. This option is not available if the group belongs to more than one assistant.

After completing all the settings, click Yes, Delete, and the user will be removed from the team.
