Learn how to set up access to assignments and tasks in your lessons on the Kwiga platform.
Assignments and various tasks make learning more interactive and effective. On Kwiga, you can easily configure practice settings to match your educational goals and track student progress.
Possible settings of an assignments or test in the lesson
Once an assignment is added to a lesson, you can customize its settings directly within the lesson, read more here.
Checkpoint (stop lesson)
This feature makes sure that students complete and pass a task before moving on to the next lessons. For example, if students need to show they understand important topics, you can set the practice as a checkpoint. The next lessons will stay locked until the task is finished, read here.
Use in progress calculation
You can choose if completing a task will count toward the student's overall course progress. If the task is mandatory, finishing it will increase their progress, encouraging students to complete all the practical tasks.
If the task is optional, you can remove it from progress tracking. Students can do it if they want, but it won't affect their overall score or progress bar.
Read more about the progress of the participants in an article.
Practice will be open
By default, practical tasks are available as soon as the lesson opens. However, you can set a delay if you want students to review the lesson material first. For example, you can make the task available 30 minutes after the lesson starts to give students time to go through the theory.
Students can also get notifications when the practice becomes available, but only if you enable this option. Notifications help students stay on track, but they are optional and can be turned off if needed.
Close access to practice
You can set a time limit for completing tasks. By default, students can work on the practice anytime, but if deadlines are important, you can restrict access after the deadline. For example, you can make a task available for only one week after the lesson starts.
Note: You can add multiple practice tasks to a single lesson by using the Practice button and setting up each separately. This lets you create different types of activities: one task could be a quiz, while another might be an open-ended question or a more complex assignment.
With these settings, you can create clear, structured lessons that motivate students to complete tasks on time.
