How to update a member's offer without losing their progress data. What to do when you need to change a student's rate to a higher one.
In this article:
When you need to change a student’s plan, for example, to a higher-tier one, you can do it in a way that preserves their progress in the course.
Attention: If the same product is used, a student’s progress is retained, and the offer determines the plan. However, if separate products are created for each plan, progress cannot be transferred since the system will treat them as different courses.
How to Check a Student’s Plan
Go to CRM → Contacts.
Find the desired participant using the search or filters.
Click on the participant’s name to open their profile and navigate to the Products tab.
Here, you will see:
-
The name of the product (course) they have access to.
-
The current plan (offer).
-
The type of access, its validity period, and additional information.
How to Upgrade a Plan
-
Add a New Plan
-
Go to the participant’s profile on the Products tab.
-
Click the +Product button.
-
Select the new offer (plan) corresponding to the updated access and click Save.
After this, if an email has been configured in the new offer, the participant will receive a notification about their new access.
You can find more details on creating and setting up a plan on the platform in a separate article.
-
Delete the Old Plan (If Necessary)
Once the new plan is added, you can immediately remove the previous access by clicking the red button next to the old plan’s name in the same section.
Important: The participant’s progress is preserved even after deleting the old plan.
After upgrading the plan:
-
The student retains all their previous results, including completed lessons and practical assignments.
-
New lessons or features will be unlocked according to the settings of the new plan.
-
This option will be activated automatically if the new plan includes curator support.
