Learn how to allow students to retake a test multiple times, giving them the opportunity to reinforce their learning.
There are two ways to set up test retakes:
-
Automatic retake – You can predefine the number of attempts in the quiz settings.
-
Manually granting additional attempts – You can give another try to a specific student while reviewing their practice by sending it back for revision.
Creating a test is very simple – just go to the Quizzes menu, click +Quiz, add questions, and configure the settings.
More details can be found in the article: How to Create a Test with Scores and Automatic Approval.
By default, students are given only one attempt to complete the test, but this can be easily changed.
In the settings section, you will find the Number of attempts option. This allows you to allow students to try again and set a specific number of available attempts.
There is also an option to configure retakes only in case of an unsuccessful attempt. This means that if, for example, you set 4 attempts and the first one is successful, the participant will not be able to use the remaining attempts.
If the test has already been created, you can change the settings anytime. Depending on your needs, you can add or limit the number of attempts.
Tip: If you want to allow unlimited attempts, enter 999.
