The article explores various ways to present a course program. It discusses their advantages, such as clarity, ease of navigation, and adaptability to user needs. Recommendations are provided for selecting the optimal format for different types of courses.
In this article:
The course outline on the public page serves as a showcase for your product. It immediately captures the interest of potential students, outlines the learning structure, and sets expectations for the course.
How to set up a course outline
Go to Courses, select the course, and open Settings.
There you will find a Public pages section. This is where the course page that participants see is created.
On this page, you can choose the appearance format of the outline, as well as add a preview image and text description of the course. For example, use a vivid picture to convey the learning atmosphere, and in the text tell what the student will get after completing the course.
You can customize the course preview appearance by choosing one of two options:
-
Large course preview with the information below — suitable for detailed presentation, with a description and structure.
-
Small course preview with information to the right — ideal for a compact and concise layout.
How to choose the best outline appearance
If your course is targeted at beginners who are new to the topic, consider revealing the full detailed outline(text display, small previews).
Note: Module and lesson previews can be added in the Lessons tab of the course settings. For modules: Click the module name, and you’ll find an option to add a preview in the sidebar.
For lessons: Open the lesson editor, go to lesson settings, and add a preview.
This way, participants can immediately see the topics they’ll learn and feel confident in their investment.
For more exclusive programs where course details are part of the intrigue, you might choose to display only the modules (Modules). This keeps an element of mystery while still providing an outline.
If your course includes unique content you want to keep hidden until purchase, you can opt to hide the outline entirely (Do not show without course access).
Additional settings for the outline appearance
At the bottom of the page, there are advanced options to further configure the course outline. For example, you can:
-
Show or hide modules without lessons.
-
Display lessons unavailable in the current plan to encourage students to upgrade their subscription or choose a higher plan.
-
Keep delayed lessons visible but make them non-clickable.
These settings allow you to create a dynamic program tailored to your teaching style.
Final Touches
Don’t forget to test your page before publishing. Use the Course Preview button at the top corner to view your public page as potential participants will see it. This is a great way to check if everything looks as planned and make final adjustments.
Customizing the course outline display is a powerful way to present your product and capture the interest of anyone who visits your public page.
