The article describes the main types of activities that can be added to a lesson to increase its effectiveness. These include interactive tasks, videos, tests, discussions, polls and practice exercises. Recommendations are given for choosing activities depending on the type of lesson and educational goals.
What can be added to the lesson?
You can add various types of content to make the lesson more engaging and effective. Upload videos, such as lectures or demonstrations, embed audio files like podcasts or voice explanations, and include text blocks with illustrations to clarify complex topics. External services like Google Forms or Wordwall can also be integrated using iframe code. You can add files in formats like PDF or Word, allowing students to view them directly within the lesson or download them. Comments provide a space for discussions and sharing opinions. This is easily combined to create a rich and multi-functional learning experience.
Video
Upload video files or add links from platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo. This feature is ideal for lectures, video tutorials, and demonstration
More information about the video is in the article.
Audio
Audio files are perfect for podcasts, explanations, or lectures that students can listen to at their convenience. Supported formats include .wav, .mp3, and .m4a, with a maximum file size of 1 GB. You can also set permissions for students to download audio files for offline use.
Text and image
Text blocks and images are great for adding explanations, instructions, or illustrations. You can also use the text block to include buttons that link to other course sections or external resources.
Learn more about adding buttons in this article.
You can also integrate external services, such as Google Forms or Wordwall by using iframe code.
Guide to iframe code can be found here.
Files
Attach documents, presentations, or assignments with a maximum file size of 1 GB. You can allow or restrict students from downloading files and enable or disable file previews in the lesson. For example, include a PDF presentation with key points under a video lecture.
Comments
Add a discussion or feedback block where students can communicate using text and audio messages, or even exchange files. Comments are public and visible to all participants who have access to them within the product. You can only add one comment block per lesson.
The comment block is added manually, and you can decide where in the lesson it should appear. Access to comments can be configured through the offer settings, allowing or restricting it for specific plans or students’ groups.
Recommendation: For homework, practice tasks, such as the Assignment type (LMS), are more effective. Students can submit their work, and mentors can check them.
Assignments, test, Practice
Practice tasks make lessons interactive and allow you to test students' knowledge. Tasks can be added directly to the lesson or on a separate page. For quick tests, you can embed tasks into the lesson content using the Practice button. If the task is extensive, move it to a separate page accessible via the List of practices link.
A wide range of question types can be combined to create comprehensive tests. Details about question types can be found in a separate article.
How to Arrange Info Blocks in the Desired Order in a Lesson
Use the arrows next to each block to change the order of information blocks. Click the up arrow to move a block higher or the down arrow to lower it. It's intuitive: You control the lesson structure, creating a smooth and sequential learning experience. Delete a block using the trash icon if it is no longer needed.
Need to add a new block within the lesson? Simply click the "+" sign at the desired location.
Then, select the type of activity: video, text, audio, file, etc.
The new info block will appear precisely where you planned—without any extra steps.
This means you can add videos, audio, text materials, files, practical tasks, and comments to make the learning process engaging and effective. The flexible lesson structure system lets you organize information blocks easily using simple tools.
