Learn how to create and administer a quiz for students enrolled in your course to gather valuable feedback and insights for improving their learning experience.
在这篇文章中:
Quizzes on the Kwiga platform are a convenient tool for gathering feedback, understanding student needs, and improving your course. This tool allows you to collect insights that are difficult to obtain through traditional tests or homework assignments.
How to create a quiz
All quizzes on the platform are created separately from the course. To create a new quiz, go to the Quizzes section and click + Quiz. This will open the quiz setup form.
Start by adding a name for your quiz. The title should clearly reflect its purpose, such as lesson evaluation or feedback collection for the entire course. After naming your quiz, choose the types of questions that best fit your goals and customize them as needed.
Once you finish setting up, save the quiz to make it available for use in your lessons.
Types of questions in the quiz
Kwiga allows you to customize quizzes with different types of questions, each serving a unique purpose for gathering information.
Interview: Great for general feedback where no correct or incorrect answers are needed.
Likert Scale: Used to rate certain aspects on a scale, such as 1 to 5. You can adjust the scale and display it either horizontally or vertically.
Reaction: Lets students respond with emojis or other simple graphics, making it easy to express emotions or moods quickly.
Rating: Allows students to rate something with stars, which is helpful for assessing satisfaction levels.
Yes/No: Designed for simple confirmation or denial questions.
Net Promoter Score (NPS): Measures how likely students are to recommend your course to others.
These types of questions can be combined to get complete feedback from your students.
Additionally, you can include open-ended response options like Text, file, audio, video answer. These are ideal for creative tasks, detailed analysis, or presenting personal ideas. Students can write text responses, upload files, or record audio or video, offering flexible ways to express their thoughts.
Add a question
-
Add the first question by choosing a question type
-
Configure as needed for it:
-
Required — the student cannot complete the quiz without answering this question.
-
Random questions — automatic change of order of options for each test passing.
-
Time limit — response time limit.
-
Scores — the setting is optional, you can specify the number of points the student receives for the answer to the question.
-
All changes are saved automatically. Each new question is accompanied by a + button in the Quiz Program. After that, the process is the same: choose a type, ask a question, and add answers if the question type requires it.
You can change the order of questions by dragging the question name up or down in the quiz program. To delete a question, click the trash icon. With different question types and extra settings, you can create quizzes in various formats.
Add a quiz to a lesson
The created quiz can be easily added to the lesson in the lesson builder. You can specify at what stage of learning it will be available, depending on your goals.
To add a quiz to a lesson:
-
Go to the lesson and add a quiz.
-
Click + near Add a quiz.
-
Select a test from the list and click save.
Details about how to do it - in a separate article.
How students will see the quiz
After adding an assignment, students can see it in the lesson content. Use the preview feature to make sure everything looks right. Open the lesson builder, switch to the preview mode, and check how the quiz looks from the student's point of view.
Where you can see the quiz completed by the student
After the student completes the quiz, it appears in the Practice section. This section lists all assignments for your course, making it easy to view the results.
If needed, you can export student responses in Excel format. This is useful for detailed data analysis or creating reports. Learn how to export participant responses in a separate article.
