Options for Setting Up Demo Access
On the Kwiga platform, it is possible to offer free access to one lesson, several lessons, or modules. Free access means that to view the lesson(s), the student will need to register and provide the data you deem necessary: email address, phone number, name, and any other information. All this data is recorded in the client's card, and you will be able to use it later when building funnels and marketing campaigns. This article describes how to set up this specific case.
The platform also offers the option to make one or more lessons publicly available — any user will be able to access such a lesson without payment or registration. You will not receive any data about such users. More information on how to make a lesson publicly available is in the article.
Setting Up Free Demo Access to a Course
To provide demo access, you do not need to create a separate course. We recommend using the regular course that includes all lessons, so that students can see the topics and lessons included in the course but will not be able to access them without purchasing.
Once you have created and published the course, go to the Courses menu at the top and select Pricing, Offers.
On the page that opens, click +Offer. Below are the key settings required for demo access.
Click on the pencil icon next to the name of the offer and enter the desired name — this name will be visible to clients during purchase.
Offer Status – set it to Public Access, and also make sure the switch Display in Public List is turned on.
Scroll down the page and find the Product section. Click +Product and select the course you want to grant access to.
Once you’ve selected the course, in the Lesson Access column, click No Restrictions, and then choose Specific Modules/Lessons.
In the window, you can select the lessons that will be available for free. You can choose a single lesson, multiple lessons, or entire modules.
After selecting all the necessary lessons, click the Save button.
In the Pricing section, it should be marked as Free.
These settings are sufficient for students to register and gain demo access.
To find the link for students to join, scroll back to the top of the page where you’ll find the Public Link — this is the link students will use to register for the course.
Email Settings After Receiving Demo Access to the Course
By default, clients will receive the specified emails from the Message Sending section:
-
An Email about Product Access Opening
-
An Email Upon Successful Payment (even though in this case, there will be no payment)
We recommend disabling the Successful Payment email.
To do this, click on the email title and set the toggle to Do not send.
You can disable the email about Product Access Opening (though it is recommended to keep at least one email — in this case, this one).
If needed, you can also create a new email template and set it up for sending.
We recommend not editing the system template directly, as any changes will apply to all products. Instead, copy the system template and edit the copy.
After editing the email, specify the desired template in the offer settings:
Click on the template name (e.g., Participant: Product Access Notification) and select your new template from the list. Don’t forget to save changes.
Limiting Demo Access by Time
If you want to limit the period during which students can register for demo access to the course, open the Offer Settings and set the desired date in the Offer Validity Period.
These dates affect when students can sign up for access, not how long they can access the course.
For example, if you're running a campaign offering free access during a specific window (e.g., August 14–20), set those dates accordingly.
If you want to change the duration for which students have demo access — meaning the time during which they can watch the selected demo lessons — go to the Product section.
In the Content Access row, you can set the period by specifying either specific dates or X days after registration.
