How to create a new stream with your own schedule

Articles:

A step-by-step guide on how to launch a new stream for a previously created course on Kwiga.

To organize the launch of the next batch, you need to consider:

  • Will access to the previous batch’s course remain? If access is not retained, you can change all necessary course settings and create new offers.

  • Will there be changes in the course itself? For example, changes to videos, lesson content, homework, design, or scheduled Zoom sessions, for which lecture recordings were later uploaded, or if you want to update certain lessons, video intros, etc. In this case, you need to create a copy of the course and new offers.

  • Will the lesson release schedule change? If the course remains unchanged but only the schedule of lesson releases is modified, you only need to create a new offer (or several offers for new pricing tiers).

A new launch (batch) requires only schedule changes.

If you only need to change the schedule of lesson releases, there’s no need to copy the course. It’s enough to create a new offer and redefine the lesson release delays directly in it.

Go to Sales > Offers and copy the offer from the previous batch.

Change the Offer Name and Scroll Down to the Product Section.

Find the column with the delays. It is likely that "Leave delays as in the product" is selected.

Click on this blue text, and a menu with options will open.

Select Set/Override Delays.

You will be prompted to choose how to set the delays – either copy existing ones or set them from scratch.

Copying delays from the course is suitable if you plan to keep most of the delays unchanged and only need to modify a few dates in the pricing plan.

Setting delays from scratch is the option when the schedule of lesson releases will differ significantly from the previously set one. In this article, we are considering the case of "launching a new batch," so we recommend using the "Set Delays from Scratch" option to make it easier to see where the delays are and where they aren't.

On a separate page, you will see the course program with the option to set delays for lessons and modules.

A reminder that:

  • If you set a delay on a module, all lessons within that module will not be unlocked until the specified date. Do not add a delay separately to the lessons.

  • The delay on a module only affects that module and the lessons within it. If there are modules in the course after this one, you will need to set a separate delay for them.

  • A lesson can have a delay, but it will not be unlocked before the date specified in the module. For example: Module 1 opens on April 10th at 10 AM. Lesson 2 in Module 1 has a date of April 8th at 10 AM. Lesson 2 will remain unavailable until April 10th.

  • You can set relative delays – this may allow you not to set specific release dates for lessons and modules. For example, if a new module opens weekly, you can use the "In N days" option, eliminating the need to set a schedule for each batch.

  • Students will receive notifications about lesson availability via email and in the notification block on the website (bell icon).
